Junior Racing Reports
Here a few reports for our Juniors competing at high levels!
October 2026 - Yunca Junior Tour - Invercargill New Zealand
Over the past week, 3 U17 Hamilton juniors have been apart of Auscycling junior development team who travelled to New Zealand to compete at the Yunca junior tour in Invercargill.
The tour is 6 stages in wet, windy and cold conditions over 3 days. They had a prologue, 2 crits and 3 road races. The riders have learned to travel, prepare and ride as a team and have enjoyed every moment of it.
As first year U17 girls, Matilda Taylor and Hannah Walters experience tough racing against strong New Zealand girls. Matilda battling a sore arm from a recent crash grabbed a 3rd on stage 4. Hannah had a small touch down on stage 5 but finished with a string of top 10s. Both girls rode selflessly for their team mates gc hopes.
Harrison Dowling’s GC hopes were dashed when a gust of wind pushed him off the track in the opening prologue. With a change of objective he secured the KOM jersey on stage 3 and managed to hold onto it for the rest of the tour. Plenty of sacrificing by team mates helped the team secure the Points, KOM and overall GC winners.

October 2026 - Tour De Langkawi
Eight stages, nearly 1,265 km and three summit finishes later, the 30th Le Tour de Langkawi is done, and what a race it was for Ren Bao Tsen and Ren Han Tsen!
Ren Bao (St George Continental) came into the race with big goals; a top 30 finish on GC and a podium in the Best Asian Rider classification. He finished 25th overall and 2nd in the Best Asian Rider classification, only 3:44 behind the winner. A seriously incredible ride. Well done, mate!
Ren Han (Malaysia National Team) was right there with him all week. The brothers announced themselves on Stage 2's summit finish up Gunung Jerai, crossing the line 29th and 32nd, just 25 seconds apart, and jumping into 3rd and 4th in the Best Asian Rider classification. Fast forward to Stage 5, which finished at the top of Genting Highlands (1,629m, hors catégorie), where the two crossed the line together, 29th and 30th on the same time. Climbing one of Asia's most famous mountains side-by-side in your first pro race together...Pretty special stuff. That performance lifted them to 2nd and 3rd in the Best Asian Rider classification, and that's where they stayed heading into the final day.
Unfortunately, the final stage into Putrajaya didn't go Ren Han's way, and he was taken out of the fight for a spot on the podium alongside his brother. A real shame after such a strong eight days of racing. You’ll no doubt be gutted, Ren Han, but hold your head high. You showed you belong at this level, and we've no doubt you'll be back better than ever next time.
Massive congratulations to both of you from everyone at Hamilton Wheelers. Rest up and enjoy the recovery!

September 2026 - Juniors and Masters National Championships - Sunshine Coast
Georgia Dowling
I recently competed in my first under 15 road nationals on the Sunshine Coast. Here’s how it went.
My first event was the Time Trial at Yandina. It was a hilly course, I pushed myself as hard as I could and I ended up coming away with 11th out of 23 girls.
The second event that I competed in was a crit race at Girraween criterium circuit at Noosa. The race started to get hard on the first lap as soon as we went up the hill for the first time. I ended up getting in a break with another girl, but the group wasn’t letting a break go. In the end I ended up coming away with 9th place out of 24 girls.
The third event I competed in was the road race. The road race was a technical course with lots of corners and u turns. The race was hard at the start as none of us really knew the course due to a late course change. During the race I ended up getting a bit of a gap from the main group but it did not last very long. In the end I ended up coming away with 9th out of 21 girls.
Overall, I did pretty well for my first road nationals. I would like to thank Hamilton Wheelers for their support.

I recently competed at my first Junior Road National championship on the Sunshine Coast. This was my first and last junior road championships.
I was very happy with my performance in the time trial, taking out 8th place. I kept to my plan and left nothing in the tank. Great way to finish my final junior TT
Nationals Crit Champs was lots of fun racing, and came in with no expectations or plan. Made a nice move midway through the qualifier ànd was joined by some other guys, managed to stay away and make the final. In the final I tried to make a few moves, especially a last ditch attack with the bell. But unfortunately I couldn't make one stick.
National Road Race Championships. Solid last race as a junior. This wouldn’t be my first choice Road Race course but it still served me pretty well. I kept it pretty safe and generally stayed in the bunch with a few little attacks until about 3 laps to go. I got off the front with some strong guys and we held a gap until half a lap to go. Would have loved to stay away but I was cooked.
Can’t wait for open gear racing at Nundah.
Thanks to Hamilton Wheelers for the continue support.

September 2026 World Cycling Championship - Montreal
Huge congratulations to Neve Parslow on a fantastic ride at the UCI Road World Championships in Montréal!
Racing the junior women's road race over six laps of the tough Mont-Royal circuit, Neve was near the front of the race all day. When the race split apart on the final lap, she made the chase group behind the leaders and finished 11th in 2:21:42, just 42 seconds behind winner Alejandra Neira of Spain. She was also the best-placed Australian in a field of 101 starters.
A top-11 finish on the world stage is a brilliant result, and the Hamilton Wheelers and broader cycling community is incredibly proud of you, Neve. We can't wait to see what comes next!

Tully Schweitzer raced in the Women's U23 race at the UCI Road World Championships in Montréal. The race was a tough one, covering 134kms over 10 laps of the Mont-Royal circuit, with 2,690m of climbing, including the famous Camillien-Houde climb. Tully arrived in form, having won the Oceania elite road race alongside fellow Aussie and Worlds teammate, Sophia Sammons, and she's part of what's being described as the deepest squad in the race. Joining Tully and Sophia in Team Australia were Talia Appleton, Mackenzie Coupland, Emily Dixon, and Felicity Wilson-Haffenden.Tully had a strong ride setting her teammates up to lead the chase to the lead group.
